Agile 2008 Conference Pictures

The Agile 2008 conference is now over. Here are a few pictures I took that can give you an idea of what it looked like.

First, the setting: the city of Toronto, which I shot from the islands that face it.

The conference was taking place at the Sheraton Conference Center - not the prettiest building I've seen, at least from the outside:

Things get a lot better once you get in. Here is the Agile 2008 logo prominently displayed at the entrance:

Just get down the stairs and... here we are!

The conference kicked off monday evening with the ice breaker. Here is the left side of the Grand Ballroom...

..and here is the right side. That's a lot of people!

More people yet, walking through the vendor stands.

Here is the Open Jam area, where many small events were taking place and where you could just spend time chatting with people or working silently on your computer, depending on how introvert you are. I had a great time with my computer! 8^)

The Open Jam again:

People working together on some code:

And finally the place where my own session was about to take place:

Unfortunately the room was far from full when the session started. That's too bad because I had prepared to impose my thick French accent on many more people! It'll be better next time.

All in all, that was a great conference. It was a pleasure to see some of the leading figures of Agile in person, and it was an even greater pleasure to see that so many people are now involved or interested in Agile. Agile is for sure becoming mainstream, and that's a damn good thing!
